Meet the Bishops: Get to know a little about Caleb Blake of the Ohio Wesleyan wrestling team

How/Why did you choose Ohio Wesleyan?
I had heard about Ohio Wesleyan through word of mouth, but I had already made up my mind and I thought I was going to another university. Coach Reid reached out to me and I decided to visit OWU anyway and ended up falling in love with the school. It seemed like a place where I could get a meaningful education and still pursue my athletic goals.
How/Why did you choose your major?
I don't have a specific major picked out yet, but I am leaning towards something with English or History because I enjoy those two subjects the most.
What made you want to compete on the brand-new Ohio Wesleyan wrestling team?
I knew that the rest of my teammates would have the same drive and passion that I have, and I wanted to be a part of setting the standard for the wrestling program for years to come.
What is your number one goal, personal or team, for this season?
My personal goal is to qualify for the NCAA tournament at 149 pounds, and I think many of my teammates have a similar goal. If we all work together to make each other better, then the team itself will improve greatly, and that is all I want.
What are you going to do to put yourself in a position to achieve that goal?
Lots and lots of practice combined with lifting often, and eating right. I think my teammates and I are going to do a great job of holding each other accountable when it comes to going to class, diet, and doing extra workouts.
Which movie or TV show would you like to star in and why?
It would have to be Interstellar because that's one of my favorite movies, and I wouldn't mind being in the same movie as Matthew McConaughey and Matt Damon.
If you could visit another time period, when would it be and why?
I would visit the distant future just to see what the world is like, and maybe try to bring back a piece of foreign futuristic technology.
What is your favorite place to eat in Delaware, and what is your go-to dish there?
Right now, my favorite place to eat off campus is Pulp with my teammates. I always get a protein packer smoothie.
