Meet the Bishops: Get to know a little about Kendall Kaiser of the Ohio Wesleyan softball team.

Class Year: 2020

Major: Health and human kinetics

How/Why did you choose Ohio Wesleyan?
I am an OWU legacy, as my mom and aunt both were student-athletes here. As soon as I visited campus, I fell in love with the small-school environment and knew that this is where I wanted to be. I was also given the opportunity to play both of the sports that I loved, softball and basketball.

How/Why did you choose your major?
I have always been into sports and love to work out so I thought it would be a good opportunity to expand my knowledge. I'm going to be getting my master's degree in education after graduation (and) I can even become a physical education teacher if I desire. I have a strong passion for children, so I will be working with them in any way that I can.

Why do you like your position?
Ever since I was little, I have been a pitcher. Being a pitcher is more to me than just a position, I consider it to be a part of who I am and it has helped me become the person I am today. It's my comfort zone and when I'm on the mound, I zone everything out and feel unstoppable.

What is your favorite memory on an Ohio Wesleyan team?
By far, the spring break trips we take to Florida. Our team grows so much closer (and) it's a good opportunity for us to get some games in before conference play. It's a full week of playing the sport that I love in Florida, so I'm not sure if it can get much better than that.

What is your number one goal, personal or team, for this season?
My freshman and sophomore years I played both basketball and softball so I would always miss out on preseason for softball. So my number one goal personally is to make the best out of this season and enjoy every second of it, really taking advantage of the time that I have gained due to only playing one sport. Our goal as a team is to play to our full potential with confidence, I think our team can make it very far this season.

What is your ideal travel destination?
My ideal travel destination would probably be Costa Rica. I've had friends go there for Spanish class in high school and my mom is going there this summer with the middle school (where) she teaches. It's such a beautiful and different environment, I would love to go there some day.
