Meet the Bishops: Get to know a little about Kenny Streb of the Ohio Wesleyan football team.
Name: Kenny Streb
Class year: Sophomore
Major: Environmental Science
Minor: Business
How/Why did you choose Ohio Wesleyan?
I was being recruited for football and stayed overnight with an upperclassman. I got to see the whole campus and realized that Ohio Wesleyan has very nice athletic and academic facilities. It felt like a home away from home.
How/Why did you choose your major?
I took an environmental class in high school and learned a lot about renewable energy. After that, I decided I want to pursue a career path in renewable energy.
What is your favorite memory on a Ohio Wesleyan team?
Catching my first touchdown against Hiram last year.
Do you have any pre-event rituals or superstitions?
Before games I like to tune out everyone else and listen to music.
How/why did you choose your event/position?
Football, to me, brings a different type of excitement than any other sport. The comradery and friendships built throughout the team along with the adrenaline on game days is what brought me to play football at Ohio Wesleyan.
What are your strengths as an athlete (as an individual)?
As a receiver, I try to use my speed to beat the defender. I also like to watch film on the opposing team to find techniques that can help me beat my opponent.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
The ability to fly.
What is your favorite place to eat at in Delaware, and what is your go-to dish there?
My favorite place to eat at in Delaware is Bun's restaurant. My go-to dish to eat there is the turkey with gravy and mashed potatoes.
