Meet the Bishops: Get to know a little about Hannah Baughman of the Ohio Wesleyan women's soccer team.
Name: Hannah Baughman
Class Year: Junior
Majors: HHK: Exercise Science and Psychology
How/Why did you choose Ohio Wesleyan?
I chose Ohio Wesleyan because it not only offered great opportunities on the soccer field but in the classroom as well. I am very family-oriented, so being close to home was a plus when it came to making my final decision.
How/Why did you choose your majors?
I have always been one to help others and have been involved in sports my whole life, so being up on my feet during my classes is fun and has helped me learn more about myself and what I am interested in for my future.
Why did you choose to compete in sports at Ohio Wesleyan?
I chose to compete here at Ohio Wesleyan because I wanted competition, but also free time for myself and to spend time with my friends and family. Ohio Wesleyan is very good at being able to apply both of these two main aspects for me.
Do you have any pre-event rituals or superstitions?
I always have to take a nap and foam roll before playing a game. It helps me stay refreshed and relaxed before playing a big game.
How/why did you choose your event/position?
I chose to play center mid and outside forward because I am a visual player. I see the field very well when I play and these positions give me the opportunity to serve the roles the coaches give me as a player.
What are your strengths as an athlete (as an individual)?
A few of my strengths include being able to always know where the ball is going to go next, being a strong communicator, and pushing not only myself to be better as a person/player, but also pushing my fellow teammates as well to work to the best of their ability.
What is your number one goal, personal or team, for this season?
My number one goal for this season is to improve my conditioning and technical skills. For my team, I want us to be able to get closer as a team and bond more with each other.
If you were told you only had one week to live, what would be on your bucket list?
I would go to visit my dream place, which is Santorini, Greece.
What is your spirit animal?
A monkey.
What is your favorite stay-at-home activity?
Snack and watch movies.
What was the last show you binge watched?
One Tree Hill.
