...I loved being able to triple major and I wanted to be able to swim...
Name: Nebraska-Lynn White
Class Year: 2022
Majors: Zoology, environmental science, and communication
How/Why did you choose Ohio Wesleyan?
I chose OWU because I loved being able to triple major and I wanted to be able to swim and this school was going to let me do what I wanted and help me to achieve my goals.
How/why did you choose your majors?
I have always loved animals and I combined these three so that I could work with animals, help with conservation efforts, and be able to connect people and wildlife as people like Steve Irwin once did.
What is your favorite event?
I love swimming butterfly, so as long as I get to swim that stroke I am happy!
Do you have any pre-event rituals or superstitions?
I am absolutely convinced that if I do not use two caps (one under and one over my goggles) I will lose my goggles when I dive in.
How/why did you choose your event/position?
I actually chose to do butterfly because everyone hated it, and when I was a kid for some reason I loved to be different, and then it just stuck!
What are your strengths as an athlete (as an individual)?
I am very passionate and determined, however, this can also be one of the greatest weaknesses in some situations as well.
Is there a specific coach or teammate who has helped you get where you are?
Richard (Hawes) has helped me so much in order to get me where I am today. He has pushed me to keep going, even when times are tough, and to keep persevering.
If you could have a super power, what would it be?
I don’t know if this counts, but I would love to be able to talk to animals! If not, though, I would love to be able to fly so I could travel anywhere I wanted.
What is your favorite place to eat in Delaware, and what is your go-to dish there?
I can never choose between Hamburger Inn and getting a cheeseburger and the absolute best waffle fries or getting tacos from Victor's. Tacos fix everything.
Which reality show would you like to star on and why?
I want to be on Survivor so badly! I think I would absolutely love doing those challenges and living outside and such!
