D. Allan Waterfield '62 made an immediate impact on the men's swimming program as a freshman, finishing fifth in both the 100 and 200 backstroke and setting school records in both events at the Ohio Athletic Conference championship meet. He also swam on the 400 medley relay team that set a school record. He lowered those records repeatedly, and led off the medley relay in each meet. As a junior, he joined 3 teammates in representing Ohio Wesleyan at the National Collegiate Championships in Seattle.
