James "Tubby" Madison ’48 was an All-America selection as a football offensive lineman. He was an honorable mention Associated Press Little All-America choice and a first-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference pick as a senior in 1947, the first season Ohio Wesleyan rejoined the OAC. That season, Ohio Wesleyan started a 19-game unbeaten string against OAC teams that extended into the 1952 season.
