Ohio Wesleyan University Athletics

Lois Merkel '23 was one of the first presidents of the Women's Athletic Association at Ohio Wesleyan.  She played field hockey, basketball, and baseball for 4 years each, serving as captain of the baseball team as a senior.  She also competed in track for 2 years, at one time holding the campus shot put record.  In addition, she taught physical education at the University from 1923-25.
