Ohio Wesleyan University Athletics

Steve Walton '77 was a 3-time Ohio Athletic Conference champion at No. 1 doubles, helping Ohio Wesleyan win 4 straight OAC championships.  His senior year, he bounced back from an upset at No. 3 singles to help win his third straight OAC doubles crown and advance to the NCAA Division III tournament for first time, where the Bishop tandem advanced to the second round.  He won the OAC title at No. 5 singles his junior year, defeating the top-seeded Kenyon foe in straight sets.  As a sophomore, he placed third in the OAC tournament at No. 4 singles.  His freshman year, he was a late addition at No. 5 singles for the OAC tournament and went on to reach the final before losing to the top-seeded Kenyon foe, as well as falling in finals to Denison at No. 1 doubles.
