Junior Ethan Freet (London) won 3 events and helped a relay team take another win as Ohio Wesleyan took the team title at the Ohio Wesleyan Triangular on Saturday at Gordon Field House.
Ohio Wesleyan won the meet with 105 points to 54 for Muskingum and 12 for Kenyon.
Freet took firsts in the 60-meter dash, breaking the tape in :07.05; the 200-meter dash, winning in :23.06; and the long jump, leaping 20-10¾. He also combined with junior Jake Eldridge (London), junior Silas Jolliff (Cardington/Cardington-Lincoln), and junior Matt Martin (New Brighton, Pa./Riverside) to win the 800-meter relay in 1:32.66.
Also taking first-place finishes were senior Jon Rux (North Oaks, Minn./Mounds View), who won the shot put with a throw of 43-5¾ and added a second in the weight throw; freshman Jon Overstreet (Centerville), who won the 400-meter dash in :51.46 and finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles; sophomore Andrew Diehl (Marysville), who won the high jump by clearing 6-1½ and added a fourth in the long jump; junior Shane Brandt (Painesville/Riverside), who won the 3000-meter run in 8:58.82; senior Evan Hitchcock (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern), who won the mile run in 4:27.30; senior David Franklin (Reynoldsburg), who won the 60-meter hurdles in :08.62; Jolliff, who won the 500-meter run in 1:08.65; and senior Sharif Kronemer (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook), who won the 800-meter run in 1:58.48.
The Bishop distance medley relay team of freshman Landon Erb (Hilliard/Darby), freshman Jacob Carnahan (Sandyville/Sandy Valley), freshman Josh Denison (Duvall, Wash./Cedarcrest), and sophomore Ian McCaslin (Prospect, Ky./Saint Xavier) won its event in 11:38.34, while the 1600-meter relay team of Overstreet, junior Jake Bonnell (Export, Pa./Franklin Regional), freshman Brian Cook (Strongsville), and Kronemer won in 3:33.02.
Other standouts for the Bishops included senior Kale Booher (Covington/Newton), who was second in the 3000-meter run; freshman Gabriel Incarnato (New Philadelphia), who placed second in the 500-meter run; Martin, who finished second in the 400-meter dash; Bonnell, who placed second in the 800-meter run; junior Nathan Kafity (Huron/Lake Ridge Academy), who placed third in the mile run; Cook, who finished third in the 400-meter dash; freshman Matt Hunter (Lexington, Mass.), who was third in the 200-meter dash; freshman Steven Uhler (Brunswick), who finished third in the long jump; junior Zach Ross (Evanston, Ill./Oak Park & River Forest), who was third in the pole vault; junior Mark Ripper (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair), who finished third in the shot put; Denison, who finished fourth in the 800-meter run; junior Ethan Perry (Cincinnati/Oak Hills), who placed fourth in the weight throw; and freshman Ryan Bechtel (Lima/Shawnee), who was fourth in the pole vault.
Final Results
