at NCAC Invitational

Senior Caleb Chiero (Westerville/Central) was leading Ohio Wesleyan after the first day of the NCAC Invitational, hosted by Oberlin College on Saturday at Oberlin Golf Club in Oberlin.

Wittenberg was leading the tournament with a 600, holding a 15-stroke lead over Allegheny.  Denison was in third place at 618, followed by Ohio Wesleyan (619), Wooster (628), DePauw (629), Wabash (652), Kenyon (682), Hiram (698), and Oberlin (770).  The tournament is the second of 2 events in the North Coast Athletic Conference championship tour.

Chiero shot a first-round 79 and a second-round 72 to finish the day at 151, good for a fourth-place tie in the individual standings.

Senior Nate Fridley (Sidney/Lehman Catholic) was tied for 12th place at 154, junior Jerry Moore (Mogadore) was in 17th place with a 156, freshman Jon Neroni (Kettering/Alter) was in 23rd place with a 160, and senior Justin Akers (Richwood/North Union) was tied for 24th place at 161.

The Allegheny Invitational's second round is scheduled for Sunday.
