Junior Emily Amburgey (Germantown/Preble Shawnee), sophomore Cara DeAngelis (Norton/Ellet), and freshman Katie Reid (Marion/Harding) won events to lead Ohio Wesleyan during the first day of the Ron Althoff Invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan on Monday at the George Gauthier Track. The meet was not scored.
Amburgey won the high jump by clearing 5-7.
DeAngelis won the 5000-meter run in 16:58.70.
Reid won the 800-meter run in 2:13.30.
Other standouts for the Bishops included junior Hannah Benzing (Findlay/Liberty Benton), who finished second in the hammer with a throw of 161-10; freshman Alexa Katrinchak (Elyria/Midview), who was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles in :16.67; and freshman Hannah Sampson (Kent/Roosevelt), who placed fifth in the 5000-meter run in 18:42.40.
The Ron Althoff Invitational is scheduled to conclude on Tuesday.
