Sophomore Antoinette Jolliff (Cardington/Cardington-Lincoln) won an event to help Ohio Wesleyan extend its lead in the team standings during the first day of the North Coast Athletic Conference championship meet on Friday in Meadville, Pa.

Ohio Wesleyan was on top of the standings with 78½ points to 34½ for DePauw.  Oberlin was in third place with 33 points, followed by Kenyon (24), Wooster (23), Allegheny (17), Wittenberg (16), and Denison (8).

Jolliff won the pole vault, clearing 10-10.

All-NCAC laurels also went to senior Sam Smyth (Falmouth, Maine), who placed second in the discus and fifth in the shot put; senior Hannah Phlipot (Van Wert), who was second in the shot put and eighth in the discus; junior Emily Amburgey (Germantown/Preble Shawnee), who placed second in the long jump; sophomore Sarah Bechtel (Bellefontaine), who finished second in the pole vault; and junior Hannah Benzing (Findlay/Liberty Benton), who was third in the shot put and fifth in the discus.

Other standouts for the Bishops included freshman Hannah Sampson (Kent/Roosevelt), who finished fourth in the 10,000-meter run; freshman Mariah Powell (Warren/Howland), who was seventh in the long jump; and freshman Karli Sturgill (Lagrange/Keystone), who tied for seventh in the pole vault.

The NCAC championship meet concludes on Saturday.
