Senior post Tamra Londot (Utica) put the Bishops on the scoreboard with a jumper from the lane on Ohio Wesleyan's first possession, and sophomore post Emily Julius (Avon) followed with a pair of free throws.
Sami Schott put the Bison on the scoreboard with a lay-in at the 18:31 mark, but the Bishops reeled off the next 11 points, with Londot recording a steal and lay-in before McQuade knocked down a 3-pointer and followed with back-to-back lay-ins. Junior post LaNiece McRae (Youngstown/Chaney) followed with a putback to extend the Bishop lead to 15-2 with 14:27 left in the first half.
Bethany chipped away at the deficit, getting by a bucket and a pair of free throws from Gabrielle Naples and a pair of baskets by Lauren Simpson, and Taylor Verrico's lay-in brought the visitors within 20-14 with 7:25 left in the half.
The Bison were still within 27-19 after Verrico's 3-pointer with 3:51 left in the half, but the Bishops closed out the half with a 16-3 run that included consecutive fast-break lay-ins by McQuade and a 3-pointer from freshman post Taylor Dickson (Baltimore/Liberty Union). Another McQuade lay-in and a free throw by sophomore guard Hanna Fedorka (North Canton/Massillon Jackson) gave Ohio Wesleyan a 43-22 lead at the half, and the Bishop lead would remain at least 20 points during the remainder of the contest.
McQuade led the Bishops with 18 points. McRae grabbed a team-high 9 rebounds. Junior post Kristin Henning (Beavercreek) led the Bishops with a career-high 6 assists.
Verrico led Bethany with 11 points.
The Adrian-Mount Union contest featured 21 lead changes and 7 ties in the second half alone, with Adrian pulling out the win in the waning minutes.
Mount Union built a 37-33 halftime lead and opened the second half with an Annie Bova 3-pointer for a 40-33 lead, the Purple Raiders' largest of the contest.
Adrian answered with a pair of 3-pointers from Casey Fougerousse to pull within 42-41 just under 5 minutes into the half, and the Bulldogs took the lead when Lauren Rhoads followed with a lay-in. It remained a one-possession game for the final 15 minutes of regulation time, with neither team leading by more than 2 points until Adrian's LaQwana Dockery hit a pair of free throws to give the Bulldogs a 71-68 lead with :56 to play.
Adrian still led, 75-72, after a pair of Antoinea McElroy free throws with :13 left. Mount Union got a look at a game-tying 3-pointer, but Amanda Turner's shot from the top of the key was off the mark, and the Purple Raiders could not control the rebound for another chance at extending the contest.
Fougerousse and Rhoads scored 16 points apiece for Adrian, while Sarah Grippi had 20 points to lead Mount Union.
