Ohio Wesleyan advances to Saturday's championship game against host Wilmington, an 82-67 winner over Penn State-Behrend in Friday's opener.
The Bishops took an early 5-2 lead on a jumper by senior guard Kristin Henning (Beavercreek), but Alma answered with an 11-0 run that included 3 baskets by Reanna Zink and a 3-pointer by a Morgan Henry.
Ohio Wesleyan answered with a 9-1 burst that included a Kuether 3-pointer and lay-ins by Henning and senior guard Sarah McQuade (Dublin/Coffman), with McQuade's basket evening the score at 14 with 10:10 left in the first half.
Senior post LaNiece McRae (Youngstown/Chaney) opened the second half with a pair of free throws that put the Bishops ahead to stay at 28-27, and Ohio Wesleyan would build a 10-point lead when a jumper by junior guard Kelly Still (New Orleans, La./St. Martin's) put the Bishops up by a 45-35 count with 11:10 remaining.
Lay-ins by Lauren Higgins and Zink brought the Fighting Scots within 45-39 at the midway point of the half.
Henning knocked down a 3-pointer to kick off an 11-0 Ohio Wesleyan run, with McQuade following with a free throw and Dickson burying a 3-pointer. Lay-ins by Dickson and McRae extended the margin to 56-39 with 6:31 to play, and the Bishops would lead by as many as 20 points.
McRae led Ohio Wesleyan with 14 points, while McQuade finished with 13 points and a team-best 6 assists, and Henning had 12 points and a team-high 9 boards.
Zink led Alma with 11 points.
