Junior attacker Tommy Minkler (Oakton, Va./Landon School) put the Bishops on the scoreboard with a goal midway through the first quarter, courtesy of a feed from freshman midfielder Matt Maier (Summit, N.J.), and junior attacker John Umbach (Montclair, N.J.) scored just over 30 seconds later, with senior attacker Casey Helms (Sandwich, Mass./Bridgton Academy) credited with an assist on the play.
Drew Stoffer scored less than a minute later to bring Mount St. Joseph within 2-1, but Helms found Foster for a score just 19 seconds after that for a 3-1 Bishop edge.
Foster took over during the second period, tallying 4 times. Helms scored thrice as well, giving Ohio Wesleyan a 10-1 lead at the half.
Umbach contributed 2 goals and an assist during the third quarter, with Helms, Foster, and Minkler adding goals, as the Bishops outscored the Lions, 7-0, during the quarter.
