The Ohio Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team will host Carthage (Wis.) in a first-round game of the NCAA Division III tournament, it was announced tonight by the NCAA.

Game time is set for 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Selby Stadium on the Ohio Wesleyan campus.  Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for students.

Ohio Wesleyan (16-0) won the North Coast Athletic Conference championship with an 8-0 record, then claimed the NCAC's automatic qualifer to the NCAA Division III tournament with wins over Kenyon and Denison.  This is the first time in school history that the Battling Bishops have completed the regular season undefeated.  Ohio Wesleyan was ranked No. 3 in both the Lacrosse Magazine poll dated April 27 and the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division III poll dated April 27.  Ohio Wesleyan is making its 28th NCAA Division III tournament appearance, ranking second among all Division III institutions.  The Battling Bishops have advanced to the NCAA Division III championship game 4 times.

Carthage (16-4) won the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championship with a 5-0 record but lost to Augustana (Ill.) by a score of 10-9 in the CCIW tournament championship game.  The Red Men are making their first-ever NCAA Division III tournament appearance.

This will be the first meeting between Ohio Wesleyan and Carthage in men's lacrosse.  The teams have a common opponent this season in Augustana.  Ohio Wesleyan defeated Augustana, 17-4, in its season opener on Feb. 14.  Carthage split a pair of meetings with Augustana, posting an 11-6 win in its regular-season finale on April 25 before Augustana took the rematch in the CCIW tournament championship game by a score of 10-9 on May 2.

The winner of Wednesday's game will advance to the second round to face the winner of Wednesday's game between Augustana and Albion (Mich.).
