Game time is set for 2 p.m. on Saturday at Selby Stadium on the Ohio Wesleyan campus.
Ohio Wesleyan (17-0) advanced to the second round with a 14-6 win over Carthage (Wis.) on Wednesday. The Battling Bishops won the North Coast Athletic Conference championship with an 8-0 record, then claimed the NCAC's automatic qualifer to the NCAA Division III tournament with wins over Kenyon and Denison. Ohio Wesleyan was ranked No. 3 in both the Lacrosse Magazine poll dated April 27 and the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division III poll dated April 27. Ohio Wesleyan is making its 28th NCAA Division III tournament appearance, ranking second among all Division III institutions. The Battling Bishops have advanced to the NCAA Division III championship game 4 times.
Albion (13-5) advanced to the second round with a last-minute 13-12 win over Augustana (Ill.) on Wednesday. The Britons won the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association championship with a 6-0 record, then won the MIAA tournament with wins over Olivet and Adrian. Albion is making its first-ever NCAA Division III tournament appearance.
This will be the first meeting between Ohio Wesleyan and Albion in men's lacrosse.
