Cabrini 12, Ohio Wesleyan 5

Junior midfielder Derek Todd (Edina, Minn.) scored to give ninth-ranked Ohio Wesleyan an early lead, but eighth-ranked Cabrini scored the next 6 goals to take the lead and went on to take a non-conference win on Saturday in Radnor, Pa.

Todd's unassisted goal at 10:30 of the first quarter gave the Bishops a 1-0 lead.

Jordan Krug and Sean Wagner scored goals just over a minute apart to give Cabrini a 2-1 lead, and the Cavaliers struck for a pair of goals 47 seconds apart early in the second period, with Matt LoParo and Krug finding the Bishop net.

Krug added his third goal of the game shortly thereafter, and Evan Downey scored midway through the quarter to make it 6-1.

Freshman attacker Max Tennant (Englewood, Colo./Cherry Creek) scored late in the half to end the Cabrini run and bring the Bishops within 6-2 at the intermission.

Senior attacker Marcus Dietz (Westerville/St. Francis DeSales) made it a 6-3 game with a goal midway through the third quarter, and after Krug answered with a goal late in the third, it was Tennant opening the fourth-quarter scoring with a goal that narrowed the deficit to 7-4.

Cabrini scored the next 4 goals to pull away, however, with LoParo, Ethan Heisman, Downey, and Sean Wagner scoring during that run.

Tennant led the Bishops with 2 goals.  Junior Ben Rigger (Decatur, Ga.) stopped 11 shots in the Ohio Wesleyan crease.

Krug scored 4 goals for Cabrini, while LoParo finished with 2 goals and 3 assists.  Tyler Morell had 9 saves for the Cavaliers.
