Todd, Tennant Start Men's Lacrosse Past Oberlin

Junior midfielder Derek Todd (Edina, Minn.) and freshman attacker Max Tennant (Englewood, Colo./Cherry Creek) scored 2 goals apiece as 12th-ranked Ohio Wesleyan opened the game with an 11-0 run and went on to defeat Oberlin in the Bishops' North Coast Athletic Conference opener on Saturday in Oberlin.

Freshman midfielder Jack Harvey (New Providence, N.J.) put the Bishops on the scoreboard during the first minute of play, and Tennant added a goal shortly thereafter.  Todd and senior attacker Marcus Dietz (Westerville/St. Francis DeSales) followed with goals just 36 seconds apart before Todd's second goal of the game gave Ohio Wesleyan a 5-0 first-quarter lead.

Sophomore midfielder Derek Bacciochi (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) and Tennant scored goals 36 seconds apart to open the second-quarter scoring, with Tennannt adding another goal later in the quarter.  Junior midfielder Cooper Del Zotto (Orangeville, Ontario/Taft School), sophomore defenseman Trent Schulte (Coronado, Calif.), and freshman midfielder Cole Jamieson (Okemos, Mich.) also scored during the Bishops' game-opening 11-0 run.

Nick Lobley put the Yeomen on the scoreboard with a goal off a feed from Reese Koburov, with Koburov then finding the back of the net for a man-up goal in the closing minutes of the first half.

Tennant, freshman attacker Conor Caffrey (Scituate, Mass./Brewster (N.H.) Academy), Jamieson, and freshman attacker Jack Jeschke (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) tallied goals to kick off the third-quarter scoring and increase the Bishop lead to 15-2.  Senior attacker P.J. Beach (Huntington, N.Y.), Jeschke, and Caffrey added fourth-quarter goals for the Bishops.

Tennant led the Bishops with 4 goals and an assist.  Junior Ben Rigger (Decatur, Ga.) was credited with 8 saves in the Ohio Wesleyan crease.

Koburov scored 2 goals for Oberlin.  Josh Kasten had 15 saves for the Yeomen.
