Harvey put the Bishops on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal less than a minute into the game, and after a score by sophomore midfielder Luke Leyden (Northfield, Mass./Northfield Mt. Hermon) less than 30 seconds later, it was Harvey with another goal to give Ohio Wesleyan a 3-0 lead midway through the first quarter.
Goals by junior attacker Matt Maier (Summit, N.J.), sophomore midfielder Derek Bacchiochi (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township), senior midfielder Sean Roskamp (Chesterfield, Mo./Parkway West), and senior attacker Marcus Dietz (Westerville/St. Francis DeSales) extended the Ohio Wesleyan lead to 7-0 late in the period.
Hiram broke into the scoring column on Greg Summers' goal early in the second quarter, but freshman attacker Max Tennant (Englewood, Colo./Cherry Creek) then reeled off 3 consective goals for Ohio Wesleyan as the Bishops closed out the second quarter with a 6-0 run. Ohio Wesleyan outscored the Terriers, 8-0, during the third quarter, with Tennant scoring 2 goals and Tennant and freshman attacker Conor Caffrey (Scituate, Mass./Brewster (N.H.) Academy) later adding 3. The Bishops tallied the first 8 goals of the fourth quarter, with senior attacker P.J. Beach (Huntington, N.Y.) contributing a goal and an assist during the run.
