The 13th-ranked Ohio Wesleyan men's lacrosse team scored 14 second-half goals to pull away for a North Coast Athletic Conference win over Wooster on Saturday at Selby Stadium.

With the win, Ohio Wesleyan finished its NCAC schedule with a 7-1 record and will be the No. 2 seed in next week's NCAC tournament.  Ohio Wesleyan will host third-seeded Kenyon in a tournament semifinal contest at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Selby Stadium.  The other tournament semifinal matches fourth-seeded Wooster against top-seeded Denison at 8 p.m. on Wednesday.  The semifinal winners will square off in the tournament championship game to be held on Saturday, April 30, on the campus of the higher-seeded team.

Ohio Wesleyan opened up the game with a 3-0 run, getting goals from freshman attacker Jack Jeschke (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy), freshman midfielder Jack Harvey (New Providence, N.J.), and senior attacker Marcus Dietz (Westerville/St. Francis DeSales).

Wooster responded with a goal from CJ Polak and one from Sam Kuhn, who scored on an empty net to bring the Scots within 3-2.

Senior midfielder Cooper Del Zotto (Orangeville, Ontario/Taft School) found the back of the net off an assist from sophomore defender Trente Schulte (Coronado, Calif.) to give the Bishops a 4-2 advantage.

Wooster would pull within 5-4 on a Nate Weltman goal at the 9:46 mark of the second quarter, but that's when the Bishops would use an 8-0 run to take control.

Harvey started the run with a goal and junior midfielder Derek Todd (Edina, Minn.) sliced through the defense for a score to give the Bishops a 7-4 lead.  Freshman attacker Max Tennant (Englewood, Colo./Cherry Creek) scored off an assist from Harvey and the Bishops went into halftime up 8-4.

Tennant continued his hot shooting and scored 2 consecutive goals to open second-half scoring and increase the lead to 10-4.

Dietz fired a shot for a score in a man-up situation and junior attacker Matt Maier (Summit, N.J.) converted a goal after wrapping around the back of the net for a score.  Harvey scored the eighth of the run and the Bishops had a commanding 13-4 lead.

Wooster's Nate Weltman ended the Ohio Wesleyan run with a goal in the final 30 seconds of the third quarter to make it 13-5 Bishops.

The Bishops poured in 9 fourth-quarter goals including a pair from senior attacker P.J. Beach (Huntington, N.Y.).  Senior midfielder George Rice (Baltimore, Md./Boys Latin) also found the back of the net to add to the lead for the Bishops.

Tennant led the Bishops with 5 goals and 1 assist, followed by Harvey with 3 goals and 2 assists and Dietz with 3 goals and 1 assist.  Junior goalie Ben Rigger (Decatur, Ga.) started for the Bishops and recorded 7 saves.  Freshman Jameson Hill (Wilton, CT) recorded 1 save.

Weltman recorded 2 goals to lead the Fighting Scots.  Aaron Levy and Tyler LaCroix combined for 16 saves for Wooster.
