3rd of 6 at CWRU Spartan Holiday Classic

Freshman Cade Richeson (Worthington/Thomas Worthington) and junior Delontaye Morrow (Medina) stood out for Ohio Wesleyan as the Bishops opened their season at the Spartan Holiday Classic, hosted by Case Western Reserve University on Saturday in Cleveland.

Case Reserve won the meet with 124 points to 79 for Oberlin.  Ohio Wesleyan finished third with 76 points, followed by John Carroll (75), Muskingum (51), and Allegheny (48).

Richeson won the shot put with a throw of 50-10¼ and added a sixth-place finish in the weight throw.

Morrow posted second-place finishes in the 60- and 200-meter dashes and finished fourth in the long jump.

Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Jayson Blankenship (Medina), who was second in the pole vault; freshman Marquis Sena (Bronx, N.Y./Institute for Math & Science), who placed fourth in the 100-meter dash and sixth in the 60-meter dash; freshman Darien Ramirez-Wilson (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township), who finished fourth in the triple jump; junior Tommy Davis (Clyde), who was fifth in the 200-meter dash and seventh in the 400-meter dash; and senior Justin Reznik (Columbia Station/Columbia), who placed fifth in the weight throw.

The Ohio Wesleyan 1600-meter relay team of Blankenship, sophomore Justin Friday (Fort Washington, Md./Georgetown Day School (D.C.)), freshman Justin Winfield (Baltimore, Md./Eastern Technical), and senior Nate Newman (Chillicothe/Zane Trace) finished second.
