Box Score
Oberlin 66, Ohio Wesleyan 62

Freshman guard Tia Karras (Bellbrook/Miami Valley) hit a lay-in that gave Ohio Wesleyan a 62-59 lead with 1:15 left in regulation time, but Oberlin scored the final 7 points of the game to take a North Coast Athletic Conference win over the Bishops on Saturday in Oberlin.

Karras had buried a 3-pointer to put the Bishops ahead, 54-52, with 6:02 left in the game, and Ohio Wesleyan would hold the lead until the final minute of play.

Olivia Canning sank a lay-in to bring the Yeowomen within 62-61 with :55 left, and on Ohio Wesleyan's ensuing possession, Oberlin's Alex Stipano stole the ball from junior guard Erin Delaney (Toledo/Notre Dame Academy), setting up a lay-in by Alex Andrews that put the Yeowomen in front, 63-62, with :23 to go.

Delaney had a look at a 3-pointer for the lead, but her shot was off the mark, and Oberlin's Tyler Parlor got the rebound and was fouled.  Parlor hit the second of 2 free throws, giving the ball back to the Bishops with :13 to play.

Sophomore guard Claire Sterling (West Jefferson) drove for a game-tying lay-in, but the shot did not fall, and Parlor controlled the rebound, was fouled, and hit both free throws for the 66-62 final.

Neither team led by more than 5 points, with the Bishops taking a 28-23 lead midway through the second quarter and Oberlin opening up a 45-40 advantage late in the third quarter.

Karras wiped out that 5-point deficit with a 3-pointer and a jumper to knot the game at 45 heading into the fourth quarter and the nailbiting final few minutes.

Karras, making her first appearance of the season after missing the first 5 games, led the Bishops with 18 points.  S
ophomore post Elea Karras (Bellbrook/Miami Valley) followed with 16 points and sophomore guard Nicole Popovich (Rocky River) had 12 points and a team-high 8 rebounds.  Elea Karras and freshman guard Morgan King (Xenia/Dayton Carroll) shared the team lead with 3 assists apiece.

Canning led Oberlin with 19 points
