Broomfield Wins for Men's Track & Field

3rd of 13 at Bob Shannon Invitational

Junior Quinton Broomfield (Gahanna/Lincoln) won an event to lead Ohio Wesleyan at the Bob Shannon Invitational, hosted by Denison University on Saturday in Granville.

Carnegie Mellon won the meet with 183 points to 77½ for Division II entity Rio Grande.  Ohio Wesleyan finished third with 76 points, followed by Mount Vernon Nazarene (65), Denison (55), Roanoke (46), Thomas More (42), Washington & Jefferson (38), Muskingum (26), St. Vincent (17), Wooster (16), Kenyon (8), and Transylvania (3½).

Broomfield won the 60-meter hurdles in a time of :08.70.

The Ohio Wesleyan 800-meter relay team also racked up a victory, with the quartet of junior Delontaye Morrow (Medina), junior Tommy Davis (Clyde), freshman Marquis Sena (Bronx, N.Y./Institute for Math & Science), and senior Griffin Peyton (Cincinnati/Anderson) clocking a 1:33.41.

Other standouts for the Bishops included senior Justin Reznik (Columbia Station/Columbia), who finished second in the weight throw; sophomore Ryan Lesmez (Arlington, Va./Yorktown), who was second in the 800-meter run; Davis, who placed third in the 400-meter dash and fourth in the 200-meter dash; freshman Cade Richeson (Worthington/Thomas Worthington), who finished third in the weight throw; Morrow, who was fourth in the high jump, fifth in the 60-meter dash, and sixth in the 200-meter dash; sophomore Darcy Isaiah (Akron/Firestone), who finished fifth in the 800-meter run; and senior Nick Horton (Westerville/North), who was seventh in the mile run.

The Ohio Wesleyan 1600-meter relay team of Isaiah, freshman Kudzovi Nuakey (Canal Winchester/Groveport Madison), Horton, and Lesmez finished fifth.
