Junior Alicia Margello (Powell/Bishop Watterson) stood out for Ohio Wesleyan in the Bishops' regular-season finale, a dual meet against third-ranked Denison on Saturday in Granville.
Margello scored first-place points in the 100 breaststroke, finishing in 1:10.60, and finished second in the 50 breaststroke. She also combined with sophomore Ty Mansfield (Columbus/Bexley), senior Grace Bulchik (Lakewood), and freshman Emily Fulmer (Bellefontaine) as the Bishop 200 freestyle relay team scored first-place points with a time of 1:44.37.
Mansfield scored first-place points in the 100 backstroke, finishing in 1:05.01, and placed third in the 50 freestyle and fourth in the 25 freestyle; junior Shannon Bermingham (Orchard Park, N.Y.) scored first-place points in the 100 IM, finishing in 1:08.57, scored second-place points in the 100 breaststroke, and finished fifth in the 50 breaststroke; Fulmer scored first-place points in the 50 butterfly, finishing in :28.05, and placed fifth in the 50 backstroke; and junior Allie Niemeyer (Oregon, Wis./Stoughton) scored first-place points in the 300 freestyle, finishing in 3:25.20, and finished sixth in the 500 freestyle.
Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Liz Mayio (Bethesda, Md./The Siena School), who scored second-place points in the 50 butterfly and placed fifth in the 100 butterfly; sophomore Qiukui Moutvic (Upper Arlington/Metro Early College), who was fourth in the 1-meter diving competition; freshman Sharlene Jensen (Shillington, Pa./Mifflin), who finished fifth in the 1-meter diving competition; Bulchik, who was sixth in the 25 and 50 freestyle events; senior Kari Lynn Seymour (Dayton/Centerville), who finished sixth in the 50 backstroke; and junior Nina Carmichael-Tanaka (St. Paul, Minn./Roseville), who placed sixth in the 1-meter diving competition.
