Senior Justin Reznik (Columbia Station/Columbia) won an event to lead Ohio Wesleyan at the OWU Open, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan on Friday at Gordon Field House.
Ohio Wesleyan won the meet with 58½ points to 56½ for Muskingum. Franciscan finished third with 51 points, followed by Denison (33). Ohio Northern rounded out the collegiate team scores with 7 points.
Reznik won the weight throw with an effort of 53-2¾.
Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Nick Jackson (Silver Spring, Md./Georgetown Day School (D.C.)), who finished second in the 200-meter dash and third in the 60-meter dash; sophomore Zach Thayer (Hilliard/Darby), who placed second in the weight throw and third in the shot put; senior Griffin Peyton (Cincinnati/Anderson), who was second in the 60-meter dash and tied for fourth in the long jump; freshman Jabriri Davis (Sunlake, Fla.), who placed second in the long jump; sophomore Mike Heeschen (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg Area), who finished second in the shot put; sophomore VaShawn Walker (Canal Winchester/Bishop Ready), who was third in the weight throw; sophomore Justin Friday (Fort Washington, Md./Georgetown Day School (D.C.)), who finished fourth in the 60-meter dash; and freshman Wayne Brookover (Delaware/Hayes), who was fourth in the weight throw.
