Keystone 6, Ohio Wesleyan 3

Freshman catcher Matt Deskins (Mason) knocked in 2 runs for Ohio Wesleyan, but Keystone recorded a non-conference win over the Bishops on Thursday in Port Charlotte, Fla.

Deskins plated a run with a sacrifice fly as the Bishops wiped out a 1-0 deficit in the top of the second, but the Giants retook the lead in the third, with Chris Panzarella and Dakota McFadden driving in runs.

Deskins singled home a run in the fourth to bring the Bishops within 3-2, but the Giants answered in the bottom of the inning with a Panzarella sacrifice fly.

Freshman shortstop Trevor Taus (Aurora, Ill./Marmion Academy) plated a run in the seventh to make it a 4-3 game, but Keystone once again had an answer, taking advantage of a pair of Ohio Wesleyan errors to get the run back in the bottom of the frame.

Sophomore righthander Seth Pritchett (Centerville) was the starting and losing pitcher for Ohio Wesleyan.

Nathan Hinkley worked the first 6.2 innings to record the win for Keystone, and Tyler Widitz retired the final 6 batters to pick up a save.
