Senior third baseman Colin Stolly (Lima/Central Catholic) smashed a grand slam in the opener and drove in the winning run in the nightcap to power Ohio Wesleyan to a sweep of Oberlin in a North Coast Athletic Conference doubleheader on Saturday in Oberlin.

The Bishops took the lead in the opener on a sacrifice fly by junior catcher Dalton Henderson (Bethel/New Richmond) in the fifth before striking for 5 runs in the sixth, capped by Stolly's grand slam.

Freshman outfielder Cole Antle (Grove City) drilled a bases-clearing triple in the eighth to increase the Ohio Wesleyan lead to 9-0.

The Yeomen pushed across an unearned run in the bottom of the eighth to avert the shutout.

Antle went 3-for-5 with 3 RBI, while Stolly was 2-for-5 with 3 runs scored and 4 RBI.

Senior righthander Kevin Zullo (Hudson), who had blanked Oberlin
on 3 hits through the first 7.0 innings, picked up the victory, striking out 7 and walking 1 in 8.0 innings of work.

Zachary Steer was the starting and losing pitcher for the Yeomen.

In the nightcap, Oberlin took a 3-0 lead in the first with the help of Lawrence Hamilton's 2-run double and increased the lead to 4-0 on Milo Sklar's RBI single in the second.

Senior outfielder Michael Blatchford (Shaker Heights) led off the top of the fourth with a solo home run to put the Bishops on the scoreboard, but Oberlin got the run back in the bottom of the inning on Jack McGowan's sacrifice fly.

Senior second baseman Matthew Messick (Dublin/Scioto) slammed a 2-run homer in the fifth to bring the Bishops within 5-3, and Ohio Wesleyan tied the game in the sixth on Henderson's 2-run single.

In the seventh, Antle led off with a double, and after Blatchford flied out, sophomore first baseman Canyon McWilliams (Shaker Heights) was intentionally walked and freshman catcher Matt Deskins (Mason) singled to load the bases.  Stolly followed with a single through the right side, plating Antle with the go-ahead run.

McWilliams, who had come on in relief in the sixth inning, took over from there, retiring 8 consecutive Oberlin batters before allowing a 2-out walk in the ninth, then retiring McGowan on a liner to end the game.

Deskins went 3-for-5 to highlight the Bishop offense.

McWilliams picked up the win with 4.0 innings of hitless relief, striking out 7 and walking 2.

Sean Kiley was the losing pitcher for Oberlin
