at Great Lakes Final Qualifying Meet
Sophomore Ryan Lesmez (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) won an event to lead Ohio Wesleyan at the Great Lakes Final Qualifying Meet, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan on Thursday at Selby Stadium and the George Gauthier Track.
The meet, the regular season's last opportunity to qualify for or improve seeding in the NCAA Division III championships, was not scored.
Lesmez won the 1500-meter run in 4:02.34.
Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Mike Heeschen (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg Area), who finished second in the javelin with a throw of 165-9; junior Daniel Frame (Tipp City/Tippecanoe), who was second in the 1500-meter run; freshman Cade Richeson (Worthington/Thomas Worthington), who finished third in the shot put and seventh in the discus; freshman Darien Ramirez-Wilson (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township), who was fourth in the triple jump; and freshman Jabriri Davis (Sunlake, Fla.), who placed fourth in the long jump.
The Ohio Wesleyan 400-meter relay team of junior Delontaye Morrow (Medina), senior Griffin Peyton (Cincinnati/Anderson), junior Tommy Davis (Clyde), and freshman Marquis Sena (Bronx, N.Y./Institute for Math & Science) finished third in :41.79.
