6th of 8 at NCAC championship
Junior Makayla Trebella (Girard) and senior Erica VanHoose (Marysville) won All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors in leading Ohio Wesleyan at the NCAC championship meet, hosted by Wabash College on Saturday at the Northview Church Cross Country course in Carmel, Ind.
Oberlin won the meet, placing 4 runners in the top 10 individuals to finish with 36 points. Kenyon was second with 58 points, followed by Allegheny (64), DePauw (94), Wooster (140), Ohio Wesleyan (155), Denison (192), and Wittenberg (196).
Kenyon's Emma Becker won the race, completing the 6000-meter course in 21:59.5 to defeat Mica Hanish of Allegheny by nearly 5 seconds.
Trebella finished 18th in 23:20.0 and VanHoose placed 21st in 23:34.3. Both runners received honorable mention All-NCAC recognition.
Junior Darcy Picker (Mount Gilead) placed 27th in 23:53.2, sophomore Libby Norlander (Carlsbad, Calif./La Costa Canyon) was 55th in 25:01.0, and junior Hannah Bush (Mount Gilead) rounded out the Ohio Wesleyan scoring with a 58th-place finish in 25:22.3.
Freshman Katie Corbin (Findlay) finished 69th in 25:45.4 and sophomore Kylee McFarland (Granville) was 70th in 25:47.4.
