Senior attacker Max Tennant (Englewood, Colo./Cherry Creek) scored to put Ohio Wesleyan on the scoreboard, but sixth-ranked Cabrini built a first-quarter lead and went on to a non-conference win on Wednesday in Radnor, Pa.
Tyler Kostack and Mike Gerzabek tallied goals in the opening minutes to give the Cavaliers an early lead, and the hosts added scores by Joey Borcky, Kostack, and Jacob Klein.
Tennant put the Bishops on the scoreboard midway through the first quarter, but Cabrini answered with a goal by Klein and a pair of scores from Kostack to close out the period.
Tennant and senior midfielder Cole Jamieson (Okemos, Mich.) rang up second-quarter goals for Ohio Wesleyan, and Tennant scored once in the third quarter and once in the fourth period.
Tennant led the Bishops with 4 goals. The 4 goals raised his career total to 201, making him the second Ohio Wesleyan men's lacrosse player to surpass the 200-goal mark. Jamieson had a goal and an assist. Sophomore Zach Brasser (Westport, Conn./Millbrook (N.Y.) School) was credited with 14 saves during the first 3 quarters, and junior Joey Sichenzia (Sayville, N.Y.) had 2 saves during the fourth quarter.
Kostack had 7 goals for the Cavaliers. Riley White, Cassius Christie, Leonardo Godefroy, and Matt Nestler combined for 10 saves for Cabrini.
