Box Score
Ohio Wesleyan 15, Linfield 9

Sophomore attacker Megan McElgunn (Cohasset, Mass.) and junior attacker Sloane Baumgartner (Naperville, Ill./St. Francis) each scored twice during a first-half 4-1 run as Ohio Wesleyan pulled away for a non-conference win over Linfield on Thursday in McMinnville, Ore.

The win gave Ohio Wesleyan a sweep of its 3-game sojourn to the Pacific Northwest.  It also was Ohio Wesleyan's fifth victory in a row, the Bishops' longest winning streak since the 2008 squad reeled off wins in its last 5 regular-season games and 2 games in the North Coast Athletic Conference tournament.  The triumph also raised Ohio Wesleyan's overall record to 6-1, the team's best start since the 2012 Bishops also opened the season by winning 6 of their first 7 outings.

McElgunn put the Bishops on the scoreboard just over a minute into the game, and after Molly Herrera answered with a goal for Linfield, goals by freshman midfielder Taryn Graves-Rogers (Hilliard/Darby), McElgunn, and sophomore attacker Paige Ross (Boston, Mass./) gave the Bishops a 4-1 advantage just over 7 minutes into the contest.

Bethany Shade scored to bring the Wildcats within 4-2, but the Bishops countered with their second 4-1 spurt of the half, getting a pair of scores from Baumgartner and goals from Ross and sophomore midfielder Jenn Douglas (Easton, Md./Saints Peter and Paul) to extend the margin to 8-3.

Baumgartner rang up 3 goals during a 4-1 run to open the second half, helping the Bishops pull away.

Baumgartner finished with 7 goals.  The 7 goals tied for fifth place on the OWU single-game list.  Ross collected 3 goals and 2 assists.  Senior Kelly Coffyn (Bainbridge Island, Wash./Bainbridge) was credited with 13 saves.

Shade led Linfield with 4 goals and an assist.  Kylee Duey and Epi Roldan-Rayo combined for 11 saves for the Wildcats.
