Sophomore attacker Megan McElgunn (Cohasset, Mass.) scored twice for Ohio Wesleyan, but Capital defeated the Bishops in a non-conference contest on Saturday in Columbus.
McElgunn opened the second half with a goal, and after Capital answered with a goal by Kathryn Walton, it was McElgunn again with a goal just 30 seconds later.
Capital had taken a 9-0 lead, getting goals from Dana Stover, Brooke Delara, and Taylor Barclay in the opening minutes of play. Luci Kanowsky added 2 scores and Stover closed out the first half with 3 consecutive goals.
Junior attacker Sloane Baumgartner (Naperville, Ill./St. Francis) also scored for Ohio Wesleyan. Senior goalkeeper Kelly Coffyn (Bainbridge Island, Wash./Bainbridge) had 2 saves and sophomore Rachel Albers (Mason) was credited with 6 saves.
Stover led Capital with 5 goals. Lisa Lotz and Bee Kuehn combined for 6 saves for the Crusaders.
