Junior attacker Sloane Baumgartner (Naperville, Ill./St. Francis) tallied 3 goals during a game-opening 9-0 run that started Ohio Wesleyan on its way to a non-conference win over Marietta on Wednesday at Selby Stadium.

Sophomore attacker Megan McElgunn (Cohasset, Mass.) put the Bishops on the scoreboard with a goal 42 seconds into the game, and Baumgartner followed with a goal just 19 seconds after that.

Sophomore attacker Paige Ross (Boston, Mass./) followed with back-to-back goals, with Baumgartner finding the back of the net again just 25 seconds after Ross' second score.

Freshman mifdfielder Olivia Beauchamp (Middlebury, Vt./Middlebury Union) and McElgunn added goals midway through the half, and Baumgartner completed a hat trick with a score at the 8:46 mark of the period.

Sophomore midfielder Jenn Douglas (Easton, Md./Saints Peter and Paul) capped the Ohio Wesleyan run with a free-position goal with 8:11 remaining in the half.

Shelby Millheim scored for Marietta to close out the first-half scoring, then opened the second half with an unassisted goal.

The Bishops went on a 4-0 burst later in the half that featured a pair of goals from sophomore defender Grace Burich (Buffalo, N.Y./Mount St, Mary), with Baumgartner converting a free-position shot that extended the Ohio Wesleyan lead to 14-3.

Baumgartner led the Bishops with 4 goals and McElgunn contributed 3 goals and an assist.  Senior Kelly Coffyn (Bainbridge Island, Wash./Bainbridge) had 6 saves during the first half and sophomore Rachel Albers (Mason) recorded 1 save during the second half.

Millheim led Marietta with 3 goals.  Maddie Leers and Sam Mooney combined for 11 saves for the Pioneers.
