Junior Cirrus Robinson (Columbus/Ashland) will represent Ohio Wesleyan at the NCAA Division III outdoor championship meet, to be hosted by the University of Mount Union from Thursday through Saturday at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio, it was announced by the NCAA.
Robinson qualified in the high jump.
Robinson will compete in the high jump beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. She is one of 3 competitors with the 10th-highest mark of the meet at 5-6½. Robinson cleared 5-5 to equal the highest jump at the North Coast Athletic Conference championship meet on May 3-4, finishing second after tiebreakers were applied. Her qualifying mark of 5-6½ gave her the win in the event at the Marv Frye Invitational on April 6, and she cleared 5-5¾ at the Great Lakes Final Qualifying Meet on May 16. Robinson is the defending national champion in the high jump, winning with a jump of 5-8½, and won All-America honors with a third-place finish at the 2017 NCAA Division III outdoor championship, also held at SPIRE Institute. She also is a 2-time national champion in the indoor high jump.
