1st of 8 at BSN Sports-Dataw Island Invitational
Senior Marie Overing (Amsterdam, the Netherlands/Vossius Gymnasium) and junior Brittany Miller (Lewis Center/Olentangy Orange) recorded top-5 finishes to lead Ohio Wesleyan to the team title during the second round of the BSN Sports-Dataw Island Invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan on Tuesday at the Morgan River Course of the Dataw Island Club in Dataw Island, S.C.
Ohio Wesleyan improved upon its first-round 347 with a 339 on Tuesday to win the tournament with a 36-hole total of 686. defeating Mount St. Joseph by 11 shots. Marymount finished third with a 699, followed by Millikin (742), Shenandoah (752), Washington & Jefferson (794), and Centenary (La.) (837).
Marymount's Isabel Trojillo, who had trailed Overing by 3 shots in the individual standings after Monday's round, carded an 80 on Tuesday to win medalist honors with a 163.
Overing finished second, 2 shots behind Trojillo, at 165. Miller finished fourth with a 168.
Senior Alexis Reichardt (Waldo/River Valley) finished eighth with a 174, sophomore Katelyn Bischoff (Marysville/Marysville Early College) placed 13th with a 179, and sophomore Grace Rudolph (Centerville) finished in 37th place with a 207.
Junior Addie Mannino (Norwalk), competing as an individual, tied for 38th place at 208.
