Ohio Wesleyan 6, Millikin 3

Sophomore Ale Coronel-Zegarra (Hollywood, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas), sophomore Ruthie Silberman (Deerfield, Ill.), freshman Katie Lee (Chardon/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin), and freshman Emma Zajac (Des Plaines, Ill./Saint Viator) were double winners for Ohio Wesleyan as the Bishops defeated Millikin in a non-conference match on Wednesday in Hilton Head, S.C.

Coronel-Zegarra and Silberman teamed up for an 8-3 win over Brianna Barconi and Shelby Jones at No. 1 doubles.  Coronel-Zegarra then blanked Jones, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 1 singles, while Silberman was a 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-2) winner over Barconi at No. 2 singles.

Lee and Zajac posted an 8-6 win over Danielle Beard and Katie Cooper at No. 2 doubles.  Lee then defeated Beard, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 3 singles and Zajac came from behind to record a 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-6) decision over Cooper at No. 4 singles.

The Bishops' No. 3 doubles team of freshman Olivia Guenzel (St. Louis Park, Minn) and freshman Erin McPherson (Akron/Ellet) lost in a tiebreaker, falling to Alena Hinch and Amber Rezinas by an 8-7 (8-3) count.
