Freshman outfielder Makenna Waddell (Marion/Pleasant) crushed a bases-loaded double to cap a 7-run, sixth-inning rally that lifted Ohio Wesleyan to a win over North Park in the first of a pair of non-conference games on Friday in Leesburg, Fla.

In the Bishops' second outing of the day, senior first baseman Kennedy Sattler (Oregon/Clay) belted a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to lift Ohio Wesleyan to a win over Concordia.

With the score tied at 3 in the opener, North Park struck for 4 runs in the top of the fifth inning, stringing together 4 hits.

Ohio Wesleyan got one run back in the bottom of the inning on an RBI single by junior third baseman Madi Drabick (Mount Vernon).

The Bishops erupted for 7 runs in the bottom of the sixth, loading the bases on an infield single by junior shortstop Madison Bridger (Pataskala/Licking Heights) and walks to junior outfielder Erica Buchanan (Hilliard/Davidson) and Sattler.  Junior second baseman Nicole Peak (Ostrander/Buckeye Valley) doubled home a pair of runs to bring Ohio Wesleyan within 7-6, and a Drabick single tied the game at 7 before sophomore catcher Cami Fisk (Pickerington/Central) singled in Peak.  Waddell capped the inning with a bases-loaded double that gave the Bishops an 11-7 lead.

The Vikings rallied in the top of the seventh, with Hayley Jackson singling in a run and Rachael Feazelle doubling home a run and putting the tying run in scoring position, but senior righthander Emily VanDermark (Junction City/Fisher Catholic) retired Jackie Calba on an infield grounder to end the game.

Fisk was 4-for-4, tying the school record for hits in a game.  Drabick went 3-for-4 and junior outfielder Aimee Duckworth (Hilliard/Bradley) and Peak each went 2-for-4.  VanDermark pitched the complete game.

Jackson was the starting and losing pitcher for North Park.

Against Concordia, the Bishops took the lead in the third on a Duckworth sacrifice fly, but Nikita Robbins singled home 2 runs in the bottom of the inning to give the Cougars the lead.

Drabick singled in a run in the top of the fourth to knot the game at 2, and Waddell singled in a run to cap a 2-run fifth that put Ohio Wesleyan ahead, 4-2.

Kristen Landon and Becky Pieroni singled in runs in the fifth to tie the game at 4, and Taylor Kulaszewicz singled in a run for a 5-4 Concordia lead in the bottom of the sixth.

Bridger led off the top of the seventh with a single and moved to second on a Buchanan sacrifice.  One out later, Waddell drew a walk to put the go-ahead run on base, and after the runners moved up on a wild pitch, Sattler delivered a single up the middle to score both runs for a 6-5 Ohio Wesleyan lead.

Drabick retired the Cougars in order in the bottom of the seventh to nail down the complete-game win.

Buchanan went 3-for-3 for Ohio Wesleyan, while Bridger finished at 3-for-4.

Hailey Howard was charged with the loss in relief for Concordia.
