Ohio Wesleyan Third in NCAC All-Sports Race

Ohio Wesleyan University is in third place in the North Coast Athletic Conference All-Sports title chase.

Ohio Wesleyan compiled 38½ points during the winter 2019-20 season, winning the conference championship in women's indoor track & field and finishing second in men's indoor track & field and fourth in women's basketball.

DePauw leads the all-sports race with 93½ points.  The Tigers won the conference championship in women's basketball and finished fourth in men's basketball, men's swimming & diving, and women's swimming & diving during the winter 2019-20 season.  Denison is in second place with 92 points, followed by Ohio Wesleyan (85), Kenyon (79), Wittenberg (78), Wooster (67), Allegheny (65½), Oberlin (64), Wabash (53), and Hiram (20).

The NCAC all-sports champion receives the Dennis M. Collins All-Sports Trophy, given annually to the school that performs the best across the NCAC's 23 sports.  Ten points are awarded for a first-place finish, 9 for a second, 8 for a third, and so on.  Men's and women's performances are combined, exemplifying the NCAC's commitment to equity and balance among programs.  Wooster won 3 of the first 4 all-sports championships, interrupted once by Denison.  Ohio Wesleyan followed with a 6-year run leading to titles by Wooster (twice), Wittenberg (once), and Denison (9).  The Battling Bishops won the next 2 titles and tied Denison for the crown in 2008-09.  Denison is the defending all-sports champion.

Ohio Wesleyan leads the way with 157 team championships during the NCAC's 36 playing seasons. Denison is next with 151 titles, followed by Kenyon (124), Allegheny (117), Wittenberg (110), Wooster (84), DePauw (32), Wabash (27), Oberlin (23), and Hiram (2).
