Catch up with the Ohio Wesleyan field hockey team!
Head Coach: Brenda Semit
Last year: 13-4 overall, 7-1 in North Coast Athletic Conference; shared NCAC championship
This year: 13 student-athletes on campus, 5 remote learners
Team is in: Part 2 of re-acclimatization
What does a practice look like?
"We're working on a lot of fundamental skills right now," Semit said. "We hope we will be able to see a lot of individual growth this semester, and hope that carries over to help us compete at a high level in the spring.
"At certain practices, we're trying to record how many touches (each player has) on the ball, so we can show progress through the semester."
What is the biggest difference?
"At this point (in a typical season), we would have had about 20 practices and our first game, but we've had only 2 practices."
What's next?
"We'll still be breaking things down and working on technical components, but we'll be able to go against each other. If things continue to go well, we're planning on scrimmaging every Friday so we'll have something to work for. We'll be switching formations and positions and working on field hockey IQ at different positions."
