27th of 42 at NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional

Senior Kylee McFarland (Granville) led Ohio Wesleyan at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional championship meet, hosted by Franklin College on Saturday at Blue River Park in Shelbyville, Ind.

Hope won the meet with 98 points to 121 for Calvin.  John Carroll finished third with 125 points, followed by Case Reserve (164), Trine (181), Allegheny (183), Ohio Northern (221), Mount Union (229), and DePauw (296).  Oberlin finished off the top 10 teams with a total of 343 points, followed by Centre (345), Manchester (371), Wooster (386), Baldwin Wallace (387), Kenyon (401), Kalamazoo (434), Franciscan (441), Wittenberg (487).  Denison won a tiebreaker for 19th place, finishing ahead of Albion on the basis of the better finish of the team's sixth runner.  Rose-Hulman was 21st with 578 points, followed by St. Mary's (597), Otterbein (619), Heidelberg (651), Hanover (683), Anderson (760), Ohio Wesleyan (761), Adrian (842), Bluffton (875), Franklin (888), Olivet (901), Capital (901), Alma (907), Earlham (915), Marietta (1018), Berea (1143), and Defiance (1150).  Wilmington, Mount St. Joseph, Transylvania, Muskingum, and Spalding did not record team scores.

Trine's Evie Bultemeyer won the race in 21:16.2, finishing nearly 36 seconds ahead of Hope's Anastasia Tucker.

McFarland finished 97th in 24:07.6.

Freshman Aubrey Dunham (Minerva) was 168th in 25:46.1, junior Mikayla Watts (Geneva) placed 170th in 25:51.5, junior Lauren Montgomery (Newark/Licking Valley) finished 176th in 25:56.5, and freshman Eleanor Luttman (Farmington Hills, Mich./Farmington) was 181st in 25:51.5.

Senior Jenna Hotchkiss (Newark/Licking Valley) placed 195th in 26:31.9 and sophomore Sammy Maglott (Fredericktown) was 204th in 26:56.3.
