Ohio Wesleyan in Fourth Place in NCAC All-Sports Race

Ohio Wesleyan University is in fourth place in the North Coast Athletic Conference All-Sports title chase.

Ohio Wesleyan compiled 43 points during the fall 2021 season, posting finishes of fifth or better in 5 of the 7 fall sports, including a second-place finish in men's soccer, a second-place tie in football, a third-place tie in volleyball, a fourth-place finish in field hockey, and a fifth-place finish in women's soccer.

Denison is in first place in the standings with 55 points.  The Big Red won conference championships in women's soccer and volleyball.  DePauw is in second place with 48½ points, followed by Kenyon (44½), Ohio Wesleyan (43), Wittenberg (42½), Wooster (40½), Allegheny (34½), Oberlin (29), Wabash (20½), and Hiram (11½).

The NCAC all-sports champion receives the Dennis M. Collins All-Sports Trophy, given annually to the school that performs the best across the NCAC's 23 sports. Ten points are awarded for a first-place finish, 9 for a second, 8 for a third, and so on. Men's and women's performances are combined, exemplifying the NCAC's commitment to equity and balance among programs. Wooster won 3 of the first 4 all-sports championships, interrupted once by Denison. Ohio Wesleyan followed with a 6-year run leading to titles by Wooster (twice), Wittenberg (once), and Denison (9). The Battling Bishops won the next 2 titles and tied Denison for the crown in 2008-09. Denison is the defending all-sports champion.

Denison leads the way with 159 team championships during the NCAC's 38 playing seasons.  Ohio Wesleyan is next with 157 titles, followed by Kenyon (127), Allegheny (119), Wittenberg (110), Wooster (84), DePauw (35), Wabash (28), Oberlin (23), and Hiram (2).
