Ohio Wesleyan 73, Wittenberg 67

Sophomore Kaito Iwasaki (Sendai, Japan/Sendai Daini) won 2 events for Ohio Wesleyan to help the Bishops past North Coast Athletic Conference foe Wittenberg in a dual meet on Saturday in Springfield.

Iwasaki won the 60-meter dash in :06.98 and the 60-meter hurdles in :08.64.

Also winning events for Ohio Wesleyan were senior Christian DeWiggins (Marysville), who won the weight throw with a heave of 48-11¾; junior Cecil Fletcher (Chesapeake), who won the triple jump with an effort of 39-5; and sophomore David Eisele (Avon Lake), who won the shot put with a throw of 40-6¾.

Sophomore Wyatt Wells (Marion/Pleasant) and junior Cooper Berry (Middlefield, Conn./Coginchaug) tied for first place in the pole vault, both clearing 12-11½.

Other standouts for the Bishops included freshman Trent Reece (Marion/Galion Northmor), who finished second in the long jump and the triple jump; junior Jayden Byfield-Ramirez (Washington, D.C./Wilson), who placed second in the weight throw; senior Marquis Sena (Bronx, N.Y./Institute for Math & Science), who was second in the 60-meter dash; junior Justin Winfield (Baltimore, Md./Eastern Technical), who placed second in the 400-meter dash; sophomore Levi Kilian (Ault, Colo./Heritage Christian Academy), who was second in the 800-meter run; senior VaShawn Walker (Columbus/Bishop Hartley), who placed third in the weight throw and the shot put; freshman Dylan Liggett (Medina/Highland), who finished third in the long jump; junior William Hefner (Sunbury/Big Walnut), who was third in the 800-meter run; and sophomore Zach Murrey (Logan), who was third in the 200-meter dash.
