Ohio Wesleyan University sophomore Peyton Howell (Canton/GlenOak) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week for the week of March 1, it was announced by the NCAC.
Howell, a member of the Ohio Wesleyan women's track & field team, was named Women's Field Event Athlete of the Week.
Howell won the high jump by clearing 5-8½ to help Ohio Wesleyan defeat Denison, 76-61, in a dual meet on Saturday. Howell's performance is the best in NCAA Division III this season by a margin of 1½ inches, and was a quarter of an inch off the school record set by Cirrus Robinson in 2017. Howell was part of an Ohio Wesleyan high jump contingent that was tied for third in the NCAA Division III event squad rankings last week.
