Junior Meredith Richters (Troy/Miami East) tied a school record for Ohio Wesleyan during the second day of a dual meet against North Coast Athletic Conference rival Denison on Saturday in Granville.
After the second day of competition, Denison was leading the Bishops by a score of 328-9.
Richters swam the 200 butterfly in 2:12.91, tying the school record set by Liz Mayio in 2018. She scored fourth-place points in that event as well as the 100 butterfly, in which she clocked a 1:01.48. Richters also helped the 200 medley relay team score third-place points, combining with junior Katie Rozsa (Silver Lake/Cuyahoga Falls), sophomore Evelyn VanderVelde (Holland, Mich.), and senior Emily Fulmer (Bellefontaine) to finish in 1:52.89.
Other standouts for the Bishops included junior Leigh Stavar (Perry), who finished third in the 1650 freestyle in 19:33.60 and added fourth-place points in the 200 freestyle in 2:10.62; VanderVelde, who scored fourth-place points in the 400 IM in 4:50.59 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:34.08; Rozsa, who tallied fourth-place points in the 100 and 200 backstroke events in respective times of 1:00.01 and 2:12.41; freshman Siarra Hoover (Frazeysburg/Newark Licking Valley), who scored fourth-place points in the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.61; and Fulmer, who scored fourth-place points in the 100 freestyle in :56.13.
The quartet of Rozsa, senior Abby Jarvis (Pataskala/Watkins Memorial), Fulmer, and VanderVelde scored third-place points in the 800 freestyle relay in 8:15.36 and the 400 freestyle relay in 3:57.29.
The Bishops and Big Red will complete the dual meet on Sunday, and the teams are scheduled to swim time trials afterward.
