Ohio Wesleyan 32, Wabash 1
Junior attacker Henry Hasenberg (Los Angeles, Calif./Loyola) collected 2 goals and 3 assists during the first quarter as Ohio Wesleyan built a 7-1 lead and went on to record a North Coast Athletic Conference West Division win over Wabash on Wednesday in Crawfordsville, Ind.
Hasenberg set up junior attacker Whit Stopak (North Canton/Hoover) on a goal that put the Bishops on the scoreboard less than 90 seconds into the game, but the Little Giants answered with a Joseph Plencner goal 36 seconds later.
Hasenberg had a hand in each of the Bishops' next 4 goals, first feeding sophomore midfielder Kyle Parry (Duxbury, Mass.) for a score that put Ohio Wesleyan ahead to stay before scoring off a Stopak pass. That cycle repeated itself, with Hasenberg setting up freshman midfielder Henry Little (San Diego, Calif./La Jolla Country Day) on a goal before scoring off a Stopak feed.
Senior attacker Will Anton (Madison, N.J.) and senior midfielder Conor McGeeney (Loveland/Archbishop Moeller) added goals to give the Bishops a 7-1 lead after the first period.
Ohio Wesleyan outscored Wabash, 12-0, during the second quarter, with Anton scoring 3 goals and Hasenberg collecting 2 assists during the period. The Bishops went on to outscore the Little Giants, 13-0, during the second half.
