Sophomore lefthander Ryan Ebeling (Dublin/Coffman) fired a 6-hit shutout to lift Ohio Wesleyan to a win over Wabash in the nightcap of a North Coast Athletic Conference West Division doubleheader on Saturday in Crawfordsville, Ind.

In the opener, Wabash's Tavic Simmons tossed a 5-hit shutout as the Little Giants took the win.

Ohio Wesleyan took the lead in the second inning of the nightcap as senior outfielder Cole Antle (Grove City) lined a one-out single and freshman outfielder Edrick Padilla (Salinas, P.R./Perkiomen (Pa.) School) followed with a walk.  Sophomore second baseman D.J. Neff (Grove City) then singled up the middle to score Antle.

The Bishops added some insurance in the fifth as junior outfielder Davis Graham (Canton/Massillon Jackson) led off with a single, moved to second on a sacrifice by senior third baseman Austin Harper (Sycamore/Mohawk), and scored on a single by junior third baseman Colin Spranger (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township).

Meanwhile, Ebeling was in command.  The Bishop defense helped out when Antle threw out A.J. Reid trying to score on a single in the first inning, and Ebeling went on to retire the next 9 batters before a leadoff double in the fifth.  The Little Giants loaded the bases with one out in the sixth, but Ebeling fanned Cole Vassilo and Matthew Annee to get out of the inning.

Ebeling scattered 6 hits, struck out 5, and walked 2 in working the complete game.  Graham went 3-for-4 for Ohio Wesleyan.

Jacob Bishop was the starting and losing pitcher for Wabash.

The opener saw the Little Giants take the lead in the first inning as Austin Simmers led off with a triple and scored on a passed ball.  Wabash added 4 runs in the third, with Annee singling home 2 runs, and added a run in the fourth and 2 more in the fifth.

Harper went 2-for-3 for Ohio Wesleyan.

Senior righthander Ethan Soderna (Chicago, Ill./Jones College Prep) was the starting and losing pitcher for the Bishops.

Simmons allowed 5 hits in working the complete game.
