Ohio Wesleyan University freshman Lauren Denison (Pataskala/Watkins Memorial) was named Great Lakes Region Rookie of the Year by D3hoops.com, it was announced by D3hoops.com.

Denison, a guard, ranked fourth in the North Coast Athletic Conference in scoring with an average of 15.9 points/game and was 20th in rebounding with an average of 4.2 boards per game.  She led the league in free throw percentage (.913) and ranked second in 3-point field goals (2.6/game), fifth in 3-point field goal percentage (.351), sixth in field goal percentage (.441) and 12th in steals (1.6/game).

The Battling Bishops finished the season with an 8-2 record.  The Bishops' .800 winning percentage was Ohio Wesleyan's highest winning percentage since the 1999-2000 team went 23-3 (.885).
