Colin Parker has been named assistant director of athletics for facilities and event management at Ohio Wesleyan University, it was announced by athletics director Doug Zipp.

"I am extremely excited to become a part of the 'OhWoo' team!," Parker said.  "Doug and his incredible staff have been extremely welcoming to me and I look forward to hitting the ground running."

"We are excited to welcome Colin to OWU athletics," Zipp said.  "Throughout the interview process, Colin demonstrated great excitement and enthusiasm for OWU and our athletics department.  We were very impressed how his experience in event and facilities management at Eastern Illinois has prepared him for our assistant AD role.

"He has already started helping to prepare for the return of our more than 500 student-athletes in just a few weeks and will be a great addition to our administrative team as well as OWU athletics as a whole."

Parker comes to Ohio Wesleyan from Eastern Illinois University, where he served as a graduate assistant for athletic operations.  He served as game-day administrator for the Panthers' 18 NCAA Division I sports; hired, trained, and supervised a staff of more than 20 student workers; compiled schedules for multiple athletics facilities; and oversaw the setup, testing, and operation of replay, timing, and other technology for athletics events.

He also has experience with event administration with the Big Ten men's basketball tournament, and interned in stadium and event operations with Sporting Kansas City of Major League Soccer.

Parker is a 2019 graduate of Eastern Illinois, majoring in kinesiology & sport studies: sport management and minoring in business administration.  He continued his education at EIU, completing his master's degree in kinesiology, sport & recreation: sports administration in May 2021.
